Hey, I'm Ade.
I’m the guy who wasted 10,000 hours gaming, then spent 14,000 hours learning Korean through pure immersion. Now I help serious language learners do what most think is impossible—reach native-level fluency.
Five years ago, I thought language learning was impossible.
I’d tried everything: Duolingo, grammar courses, conversation apps. Six months of Pimsleur drills and “speak from day one” advice. Nothing worked. I was that guy searching “how to learn Korean faster” on YouTube every morning, convinced there had to be a secret method I was missing.
Then I discovered immersion—and everything changed.
Not the “live abroad for a year” kind. The “replace your Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube with your target language” kind.
I stopped studying Korean and started living in it. Dramas instead of textbooks. Passive listening while studying. Subtitles + sentence mining + SRS to retain what I learned. I built systems that turned “screen time” into language acquisition.
Korean stopped being a subject I studied. It became part of my life.
14,000 documented hours later, I’ve studied at Yonsei University in Korean, worked in Korean politics, and shocked native speakers who ask what part of Korea I’m from. (I’m from DC, by the way.)
I’m not a polyglot making claims about seven languages. I’m just your friend who went deep on one language and figured out what actually works when apps and grammar books fail you.
